Sue Stepancic

Sue began working in the legal industry in 1988 in a large practice where she gained valuable skills in numerous areas of law including family law, personal injury law, estate matters and the ETSA bushfire litigation.

After having her own family and returning to work, Sue has worked exclusively in family law for many years and has also worked as a Chambers Clerk with a specialist Family Law Chambers.

Sue joined Donlan Lawyers in 2013 and is dedicated to providing excellent service as Tim Donlan’s Personal Assistant.

Sue is married with two adult children and enjoys spending time with her family and friends and watching and participating in sports.

Leigh – Anne Shattock

Leigh-Anne joined Donlan Lawyers in 2023 and is based in the Victor Harbor office where she provides reception and administrative support.

Prior to joining Donlan Lawyers, Leigh-Anne was employed with the Australian Government Solicitor, Director of Public Prosecutions and the Courts Administration Authority.

With over 35 years of experience working in legal practices, Leigh-Anne has gained extensive knowledge of legal forms, practices and procedures and is happy answering client enquiries to assist with document execution.

When not at work Leigh-Anne enjoys cooking, entertaining and exploring sites of interest on the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula.

Nigel Barnard

Nigel joined Donlan Lawyers as a Wills Consultant in 2017 and works closely with our solicitors regarding our clients’ estate planning needs.

He has considerable experience having previously worked in the trustee industry for 19 years assisting with the estate planning and administration needs of many clients over that time.

Working as a mobile consultant, Nigel assists by attending retirement villages and homes of elderly when they are unable to attend our office and works closely with us in the preparation of wills and estate planning documents.

Nigel is a member of the Executor and Trustee Institute of the Trustee Companies Association of Australia. He is also a Justice of the Peace for the State of South Australia and a registered marriage celebrant.

Karen McDiarmid

Karen has worked in legal administration since 2001 and completed a Bachelor of Arts (Corporate Records Management and Librarianship) in 2018.

She joined Donlan Lawyers in 2024 as an administration assistant with more than 20 years’ experience in family law, wills and estates, probate, personal injury and insurance law. She brings her can do attitude, sensitivity and high level organisational skills to our Family Law team and to our clients.

In her spare time, Karen is a keen gardener, baker, enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Carolyn Donlan

Carolyn has been with Donlan Lawyers since 2012 undertaking many different and varied roles within the firm.

With qualifications in Social Work, Public Relations and Marketing, she has extensive experience working in public hospitals, not for profit organisations and The University of South Australia.

At the present time Carolyn is responsible for the firm’s ongoing strategic planning requirements along with the firm’s planned growth and marketing strategies. Carolyn also coordinates the various sponsorships that the firm provides in various community sectors.

Jordan Jones

Jordan has recently joined the team at Donlan Lawyers as our front of house receptionist in the Adelaide office bringing 10 years of experience in Hospitality & Hotel Management with her. She has a diverse work background ranging from a marine and auto upholsterer to hospitality management whilst living and working in Europe. Jordan joins us with an incredible passion and focus on outstanding customer service.

In her spare time she is either volunteering with the Animal Welfare League or the Royal Flying Doctor Service and after all of that she enjoys spending time with her loved ones.

Elly Herrmann 

Elly has been working in legal administration since 2024 and has completed an Honours Degree in English and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Adelaide.

She recently joined the team at Donlan Lawyers in 2025 as an administration assistant. She brings with her a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and friendly customer service.

In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
